From the Engagement Session to shooting your bridals! What a beautiful bride and a beautiful venue. This shoot could not have been more perfect, which is why I am going to highlight a few tips to having a successful bridal session.
Ashely chose to take her bridals at her wedding venue, 601 Spring! 601 Spring has a Contemporary feel that works beautifully for bridal photography. Choosing the perfect location for your shoot is extremely important! It may even help to search for bridal ideas on Pinterest to get an idea of what type of background and scenery you want. So if like Ashely, you are able to take your bridals at your wedding venue, I recommend doing that. Most venues allow their brides to use the space free of charge if they’re hosting their wedding. But if you’re having your ceremony at a church or hotel, I would suggest investing a little time and money in reserving a hour slot at the location of your choice!
Ashely’s wedding dress fit beautifully! My second tip is to be sure to have your wedding dress fitted and picture perfect prior to the bridal session! All straps, buttons, zippers and alterations need to be in place! The camera sees all and if your gown doesn’t fit on the day of your session, it will unfortunately show in your images. And don’t forget your bouquet! Bridals without a bouquet is like peanut butter without jelly, it just doesn’t work!
Ashley brought her mom with her to her bridal session, which we always love to see! We love experiencing that moment when the bride and her mom bond and create a very special memory. My final tip is to bring family or friends to assist you during your session. They can help you with your makeup, your hair, carrying your dress, carrying your spare shoes (bring comfortable shoes to walk in)! Most importantly, having your loved ones there will make you more comfortable and allow you to create those special memories that last a lifetime!
